Images are available in the three most common screen resolutions and include the Round Barns, Foellinger Auditorium, Assembly Hall, Hellene Gateway, the Quad, NCSA and the Illini Union. Over 35 colleges and units are involved in our Chicago Imprint project - data collection that allows the campus to track and share our sustained presence in the Chicago area, defined as Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, and Will counties.

Illini students win EPA P3 award, will help design water system for rural Nigeria

An interdisciplinary team of University of Illinois students was among the six award winners of the Environmental Protection Agency's Fourth Annual "P3: People, Prosperity and the Planet Student Design Competition for Sustainability." The award is for $75,000 over a two-year period to implement Phase II of a sustainable water development program for rural Nigeria.


Students' designs address disability issues

Industrial design students were matched with students registered with Illinois' Disability Resources and Educational Services unit, and with members of the Delta Sigma Omicron service fraternity to create simple, low-tech product designs and prototypes that could enhance the abilities, independence and quality of life of students with disabilities.

Iron 'snow' may cause Mercury's mysterious magnetic field

New scientific evidence suggests that deep inside the planet Mercury, iron "snow" forms and falls toward the center of the planet, much like snowflakes form in Earth's atmosphere and fall to the ground. The movement of this iron snow could be responsible for Mercury's mysterious magnetic field, say researchers from the University of Illinois and Case Western Reserve University.


Illinois football names its top specialists of all time


The list of Illinois football's greatest specialists is highlighted by five of the top eight scorers in school history and possibly the greatest all-around athlete in Fighting Illini history.
