Illinois ranked among PC Magazine's "Most Wired Colleges"
December 12, 2006
PC Magazine has released its findings for "Top 20 Most Wired Colleges" and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is
ranked sixth on the list.
The publication, on newsstands December 26th, highlights some of our remarkable alumni and their successes in the computing
industry. It mentions the groundbreaking computing infrastructure and student resources provided by campus. In short, the
magazine acknowledges and recognizes what the faculty, staff, and students of Illinois already know - that Illinois continues
to build upon its rich history of excellence in computing and technological innovation.
We agree with PC Magazine Editor-in-Chief Jim Louderback who writes, "Cutting-edge technology has become an integral
part of the college experience-and something that enables students to have many more marketable skills when they enter the workforce."
Congratulations to everyone who continually works to provide our students and faculty with these critical resources. For decades,
the excellent computing and technological resources available at Illinois have been combined with top-quality instruction, innate talent,
and tremendous creativity to achieve remarkable success.
