Most hotels begin taking reservations for Commencement Weekend very early and may already be filled in the Champaign-Urbana area. The Champaign County Economic Development Corporation operates a hotel/motel clearinghouse at (800) 554-7270 that may be able to assist with accommodations.
The Commencement Guide to Activities is a booklet sent to eligible graduates and candidates. It contains a listing of Commencement Weekend activities, ceremony participation procedures, cap and gown rental information, and more. The Guide will be mailed to eligible participants the week of March 23. Additional copies will be available at the Event Services Window in the Illini Union and in the Swanlund Administration Building Lobby. Information contained in the Guide is also available on this web site.
In addition to the campuswide Commencement ceremony, various units sponsor convocations and/or receptions. Most of these events require tickets and/or registration. Students should receive information regarding unit convocations directly from that unit. If information has not been received by April 1, please call the unit contact person.
