A. Welcome to all members, visiting American Council on Education Fellow Carol Bresnahan from
     University of Toledo, and our Secretary, Marcy Townsend, graduate student in architecture

A. Need student representative from CCSW to serve on Rape Awareness and Prevention Committee.

B. Review National Initiative for Women in Higher Education Agenda for the 21st Century, Executive
    Summary - distributed today.  Use this as a springboard to identify 2-3 issues you believe to be most
    important at the UIUC campus.  E-mail your top issues to Marcy Townsend
    (mltownse@uiuc.edu) by 10/1; we'll discuss at our next meeting. 
Also review the Commitment
    to Action form at the end of the document.  Let's use this as a guide for some of our activities this
    year.

4. Recap of Meeting with Kathleen Pecknold and Kathryn Anthony on September 16, 2003

A. New Items

1) Campus conduct.  Follow up on university-wide efforts to improve campus conduct,
    prevent sexual harassment and gender discrimination.  Follow up at 10/28 CCSW
    meeting with guest speaker Mary Ellen O'Shaughnessey

2) "Tangible initiatives." Develop initiative to improve spaces/places for women across
    campus. Possible ideas: safer and more pleasant parking garages; gender-friendly

B. Follow-up on initiatives from recent years

1) Flexible appointment structures.  Work with Dean David Daniel from College of
    Engineering and possibly other administrators who would like to begin implementing
    such positions. Monitor progress and keep CCSW informed. Faculty committee

2) Mentoring initiative.  Monitor progress of mentoring programs across campus and
