Organizational Structure Ad Hoc
Committees |
|
CSW serves a diverse population, represents women from all segments of the university and is intended to address inclusiveness in its composition as well as its issues of concern. Voting membership consists of four individuals with tenured faculty rank, two with academic professional appointments and two with staff appointments, one graduate student and one undergraduate student. Completing membership is a liaison/resource group composed of ex-officio members. This group consists of individuals who represent a variety of offices and programs across campus. Members of the Committee are appointed for a two-year term, with possibility of reappointment for a second term. Members serving two consecutive terms are rotated off the Committee and are not eligible for reappointment for a two-year interim. The Chair of CSW is nominated by members of the Committee through the same process and is appointed by the Chancellor for a three-year term. CSW is organized and functions as a committee of the whole. Although there are two standing committees, additional ad hoc committees may be appointed on the basis of need. Ad hoc and standing committees may cooperate and collaborate with existing committees from various offices and programs or campus wide committees appointed by the campus administration. These committees serve as intermediaries for the Committee as a whole and are responsible for maintaining awareness and informing CSW relative to discussions, progress and disposition of issues raised. An individual may be a member of either a Standing Committee or an Ad Hoc Committee and not be a member of CSW. Members of the Standing and Ad Hoc Committees who are not appointed members of CSW are identified during the spring semester of each year for a one-year term. |
