Purpose
|

The Committee on the Status of Women serves as
an advisory committee to the Chancellor on campus

status of women faculty, staff and students.
Examples of policies and issues include but are not
limited to:
- proposed changes to the University Statutes
and general rules
- undergraduate and graduate educational
practices, policies and factors of climate which
affect women's continued educational
opportunities or development and realization of
their educational goals
- current policies, practices and climate
pertaining to employment and continuing
educational opportunities of women in faculty,
academic professional and civil service
positions that affect equality of opportunity
(i.e., tenure rollbacks, sick leave for staff,
changes in University hours or schedules, etc.)
- sexual harassment
- salary equity
- child care
- spousal appointments
- maternity and family leaves
Through discussion, deliberation and review CSW
ensures that such issues receive proper attention
and that they are the subject of careful analysis
and deliberation. CSW is charged specifically with
bringing such issues to the attention of Chancellor
and making recommendations to improve the status of
women on campus.
